PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- From the Golden Age of Broadway to the great American Songbook, Tony Award-nominated stage and screen actor Max von Essen is bringing his big Broadway sound to Philadelphia.
Right now, von Essen is starring in Chicago on Broadway.
He's bringing his show "Call Me Old Fashioned" to the Broadway Cabaret at Rittenhouse Grill in the Warwick Hotel in Rittenhouse Square.
"I like to think of it as an old school sort of step into another era," he says.
"You're hearing music of another time. This is a little escape to an era gone by, when this great music was written. In that Rat Pack era, we dressed for theater and for music, and we just got to escape for a little bit."
von Essen is teaming up with Billy Stritch, a Grammy Award-winning songwriter and acclaimed pianist.
"Call Me Old Fashioned" is at the Broadway Cabaret at Rittenhouse Grill in the Warwick Hotel in Rittenhouse Square on Monday, April 20.
